Ephesians 4 is a chapter in the New Testament of the Bible that talks about unity in the body of Christ and the importance of living a life worthy of the calling we have received.
The chapter begins with Paul urging the believers in Ephesus to lead a life worthy of their calling as followers of Christ. He emphasizes the importance of maintaining unity in the body of Christ, and encourages them to "make every effort to keep the unity of the Spirit through the bond of peace."
Paul then goes on to describe the different roles and responsibilities within the body of Christ. He mentions that Christ has given gifts to the church, including apostles, prophets, evangelists, and pastors and teachers. These gifts are given to equip and build up the body of Christ, so that we can "grow up in every way into him who is the head, into Christ."
In addition to these gifts, Paul also emphasizes the importance of humility and gentleness in our relationships with one another. He tells the believers to "be completely humble and gentle; be patient, bearing with one another in love." He also encourages them to forgive one another, just as Christ has forgiven them.
Finally, Paul urges the believers to put off their old selves and put on their new selves, which are renewed in the image of God. This means living a life that is characterized by righteousness, holiness, and truth, rather than indulging in the ways of the world.

Interpreting Ephesians 4: The Five
But spiritual communism does not involve social communism or even social equality, nor will social distinctions be obliterated in a pure Church, except so far as they hinder spiritual communion. It is also no wonder we have made Seminary THE THING for aspiring Christian leaders to obtain and we have overly intellectualized the church knowledge seems to be more important in Western churches than obedience. Therefore, the five-fold ministry in chapter 4 is also addressed to the every day common believer and we need to take it as such. This is not some super hero of the faith or some elder council. Think of a prisoner who is released from prison, but still wears his prison clothes and acts like a prisoner and not as a free man. But He put up with it. In a sermon on this text, Charles Spurgeon pointed out some of the things that the text does not say.

The new man knows how to let go of his wrath, thus giving no opportunity to the devil. The ancient Greek word for tossed to and fro is from the same words used to describe the stormy Sea of Galilee in Luke 8:24 raging of the water. But the atonement taught "in Jesus," in connection with the living, loving, dying, risen Savior tells; the blood of redemption in connection with the Son of God incarnate thus loving us, and meekly, patiently suffering the agonies of the cross in our room, is not only a power, but the greatest moral power that can move the heart. Alas, commentaries I have consulted seem not to address this and assume the cessation of at the very least apostles. Just as God in Christ forgave you : Our forgiveness to others is patterned after the forgiveness of Jesus towards us. This may seem strange to us, but not to those who consider how little theft was thought of among the pagans, and how liable such habits are to remain among converts from heathenism. This is as real as it gets.

We should deal with them in love, but never budging from the truth. Usually faith and knowledge are opposed to each other; but here faith has more the meaning of trust than of mere belief - trust based on knowledge, trust in the Son of God based on knowledge of his Person, his work, and his relation to them that receive him. Either he altered it under the inspiration of the Holy Spirit or under similar inspiration he quoted from an ancient translation called a Targum that quotes the Psalm in this manner. There is a fulness in Christ, and a measure of that fulness given in the counsel of God to every believer; but we never come to the perfect measure till we come to heaven. That ye no longer walk as the rest of the Gentiles walk. Another reason is added. Fundamentally, Paul says that for the Christian, there must be a break with the past.
