Vishnu, also known as Narayana, is one of the primary deities in Hinduism and is considered the Supreme Being in Vaishnavism, one of the major traditions within Hinduism. Vishnu is revered as the protector and preserver of the universe, and is believed to incarnate on earth in various forms, known as avatars, to restore balance and order whenever needed. One of the most well-known stories in Hindu mythology is the story of Vishnu's ten avatars, collectively known as the Dasavatara, which means "ten avatars" in Sanskrit.
The first avatar of Vishnu is a fish, known as Matsya, who saves Manu, the progenitor of humanity, from a great flood by guiding him to safety. The second avatar is a tortoise, known as Kurma, who supports the world on his back while the gods and demons churn the ocean to obtain the elixir of immortality. The third avatar is a boar, known as Varaha, who rescues the earth from the bottom of the ocean, where it had been dragged down by a demon.
The fourth avatar of Vishnu is Narasimha, a half-man, half-lion creature who destroys the demon king Hiranyakashipu and saves his devotee, Prahlada. The fifth avatar is Vamana, a dwarf who grows to cosmic proportions and defeats the demon king Bali. The sixth avatar is Parashurama, a warrior who fights against the oppressors of the earth and establishes dharma. The seventh avatar is Rama, a prince who is known for his righteousness, bravery, and devotion to his wife Sita. The eighth avatar is Krishna, a wise and divine being who is revered as the Supreme Being and the source of all creation. The ninth avatar is Buddha, who teaches the path of enlightenment and compassion to all beings. The tenth and final avatar is Kalki, a destroyer of evil who is yet to appear in the future.

Parasurama Avatar of Lord Vishnu Parasurama Avatar is the sixth incarnation of Lord Vishnu.
