Insidious: Chapter 2 is a 2013 horror film directed by James Wan. It is the sequel to the 2010 film Insidious. The film follows the Lambert family, who are still dealing with the aftermath of the events that occurred in the first film.

The story picks up shortly after the first film ended, with the Lamberts returning home after successfully rescuing their son, Dalton, from the Further, a realm inhabited by malevolent spirits. However, they soon realize that the spirits are still following them and attempting to possess Dalton once again.

To try and protect their son, the Lamberts seek help from Elise Rainier, a psychic who helped them in the first film. Elise is able to communicate with the spirits and learns that they are being controlled by a malevolent entity known as the Bride in Black.

As the Lamberts try to figure out how to defeat the Bride in Black and protect their son, they uncover a series of disturbing secrets about their family's past. It is revealed that Dalton's mother, Lorraine, is actually the Bride in Black, who has been possessed by the spirit of a woman who was wrongfully accused and executed for the murder of her husband and children.

In the end, the Lamberts are able to defeat the Bride in Black and save Dalton, but not before suffering several losses and being forced to confront the dark secrets of their family's past. Insidious: Chapter 2 is a suspenseful and chilling horror film that builds on the events of the first film and explores the theme of the consequences of one's actions.

Movie Review: INSIDIOUS CHAPTER 2

insidious 2 movie summary

Insidious was an ace haunted house film although it did get a bit silly towards the end. While a certain past or a certain childhood is a dealt with and as they try to close the chapter on The Lamberts, they open a new way to a possibility of the team of experts going to another family, because this is a world where The Further has taken the front seat, it has become the lead star and the face of this franchise. Yes this was a hard one to pull off so perhaps they shouldn't of tried. Also stars House Of The Devil's Joceline Donahue as young Lorraine in some equally clever flashback sequences that tie into the rest of the film in a fun way. This sometimes results in effective set pieces, like when Renai's group discovers a roomful of corpses; at that moment, you don't need to understand what's going on. Decided to finally watch them all, with the intent of reviewing the latest film as part of my quest to see as many 2018 films as possible and wanting to see how it compared with the previous outings. In order to bring the audience up to speed, it opens up with 15 minutes of purposely stilted exposition.

But in reality, it's mediocre and nothing special. In fact, there are multiple story lines here that are though easy to digest and to follow and that all lead to a dramatic ending. It's about as clever as the swing away twist in Signs, that's pretty bad. Opinion about the main character: Josh wants to save his family from this unwanted "ability" of his that always gets everybody into trouble. It's probably not one of the worst as I haven't seen that many horror sequels but this is a waste of everyone's time. . A flash back shows Lorraine working in a hospital as a doctor and Josh coming to visit her. The movie has a few uglier scenes than the first one even though they are not disgusting.

Shouldn't he be in custody or something? We see some scenes that happen in Josh's past, other things that have happened in the first movie or just after, a couple of scenes playing in "The Further" and finally the main story line in the now and here. I do not understand how these films have such a high rating on here. When you are making a horror movie it always helps to have a few things around in the movie in order to help set the mood. Unfortunately it seems that in 2015 is foreseen the release of a third chapter of "Insidious". Needless to say you will be completely lost if you haven't seen the first film, which you should be watching anyway seeing as its a million times better than this.

But Wan understands the ability of the camera to revitalize these familiar tropes, and he uses it with power and grace. There is some time travel nonsense that is just plain ridiculous. No, this film fires so many Jump-scare-'duds' and loud noises at the viewer, that after the first third of its runtime you won't care anymore.

Detailed Review Summary of Insidious: Chapter 2

insidious 2 movie summary

Without giving any major spoilers away, I will say that the last 30 minutes seemed more of a "slasher" movie than a paranormal movie, which may turn some hard-core Insidious fans away. Overall, Chapter 2 makes several improvements on the first, and while, depending on your tastes, this sequel may or may not be as scary as the first, I think it's tough to deny that this is a all-around better, more entertaining movie. Renai is haunted by a woman in white and Josh Patrick Wilson has a strange behavior at home. The only thing that could improve, is to have a little less common sense moments, you know those moments where a character does the thing everyone knows they shouldn't. There are countless sequels out there that try hard to expand on something while begging audiences to check out the first film again, but the way that is done in INSIDIOUS: CHAPTER 2 is clever. The sequel delivered plenty of answers to some burning questions from the first film and most importantly revealed what happened to Josh when he was a child.

I wasn't expecting that. They are barely moved in when supernatural occurrences start to begin again with objects moving, spectral voices, apparitions appearing and dear old dad acting very strange. . Title Brazil : "Sobrenatural: Capítulo 2" "Supernatural: Chapter 2" If you happened to like the first chapter, you will also like the second even though there are a few differences between both movies. All in all, the story in here is much more intelligent and profound than in the first film which is something I didn't expect. Now, I'm going to try to do this review without spoiling details, and it's going to be hard but I'm going to try to the best of my ability. Then laugh while your heart rate comes back down. 'Insidious: Chapter 2' Movie Summary

insidious 2 movie summary

Jason Blum and his Blumhouse Productions, which produced both Insidious and Insidious: Chapter 2, is producing the next installment along with Oren Peli and James Wan. When I heard that they were making a sequel to this, I was both over-hyped with excitement and very nervous because let's face it, sequels rarely live up to the expectations of the originals. Now, what's extremely cool about how Wan and Leigh crafted this sequel in that they play it in a way that this realm The Further becomes a connection, a bridge between the first and this second movie. Is it as scary as the first? To emphasize this disconnection from the human condition, all lines are delivered by a group of wooden mannequins cleverly disguised as actors. After battling evil spirits from the dark side or ' The Further', where father Josh Lambert Patrick Wilson himself travels, to get the soul of his son back, he returns with him safe but something changes.
