. The story develops slowly and the book is long, but it kept my interest throughout. This is simply due to racial prejudice and it is purely unjust. I wish it wasn't there. Stu is already popular policeman among his colleagues so people seemed like this is a betrayal to the memory of one of the bravest crime fighters. It is Grisham at his finest.
This is the third book in the Jake Brigance series by John Grisham and it seems like the author has his mojo back. Stuart was a good cop and a respected member of the community when he was sober.
