My worst job ever was working as a fast food cashier during the summer after my freshman year of high school. I had taken the job because I wanted to earn some extra spending money, but I quickly realized that I had made a mistake.
The first problem was the hours. I was working the evening shift, which meant I was there from 4pm until midnight. It was a long, tiring shift, and by the time I got home, I was too exhausted to do much of anything. On top of that, the store was always busy, so there was very little downtime.
The second problem was the customers. Many of them were rude and impatient, and they often took their frustrations out on me. I can't even count the number of times I was yelled at or cursed at because the food wasn't ready fast enough, or because I accidentally gave someone the wrong order. It was a very stressful environment, and it really wore me down.
The third problem was the pay. I was only making minimum wage, which wasn't much to begin with. And because I was working such long hours, my paycheck wasn't even enough to cover my basic expenses. I ended up having to dip into my savings just to make ends meet.
