Frankly, I don't know but I liked the story. That first shabby piece of orbiting hardware now seems like a toy compared to the space station, the shuttle, and the missions to the moon and beyond. Plot twists that might seem heavy-handed or melodramatic work because we know they really happened, and because these characters make us believe. The story is light drama. It's just one of those films.
However as the story develops, one will notice that Joe Johnston actually had a well-thought out plan for this feature. The opening scene of the film shows shifting camera movement and this is done through physical displacement of the camera. It was aired in the middle of the day on a channel not exactly famous for airing good movies. Different colours throughout the film express different emotions. You call it a miracle. Every person has a desire to be successful. .
Feigning her concern for Songlian's pregnancy, the second mistress requested the family doctor to examine Songlina's condition. Through these unsuccessful and successful events the Rocket Boys challenged themselves and the people around them to believe in the unbelievable. Especially affecting are subplots concerning Homer's ailing young school teacher. OCTOBER SKY wins on every level. He is a hard man with expectations for Homer to work in the mines and to grow up the same way as he did. Humor, drama, a little action, some romance not very much. Not only to the filmmakers give clear, apparent reason why Homer is interested in the subject, but they also explain to the audience how they are succeeding in their studding of rocketry.

The four boys, Homer being their leader, fight through accusations by the law and attempts to destroy their dreams. I just accidentally stumbled over this film on TV one day. The movements of the camera show John Nash is not confident in himself due to his schizophrenia. While jaded townsfolk of their 1950's coal town dismiss the event, Homer Hickham sees Sputnik as his ticket out of a life in the mines. He wants Homer to follow in his footsteps.
A simple and effective film about what life is all about, responding to challenges. She gives him a book on missi8le design and encourages him to read it. Most reviews are rated on how the reviewer enjoyed the film overall, not exclusively on content. Only one teacher in the high school understood their Intention and their potential for growth and lets them know that they could become contenders in the national science fair with college scholarships being the prize. I grew up in Southern West Virginia; I'm about the same age as or maybe a year older than Homer Hickam, author of "The Rocket Boys," the book forming the true-story basis of this heart-warming film. This movie has deep values. I watched it while I was in the town next to the one where he grew up! The director put camera angles to use and lighting to success showing the scene.
This might have been the fourth challenge Homer had to face: the challenge of taking a road that was not the one pointed at and programmed by his own father. Secondly, failures during trial and error rocket launches caused many people to rebuke him and his friends. This is another theme that viewers can be aware of. All of a sudden, this film showed characteristics of a great movie: humor, drama, heart, suspense in a mild way , and fun. Perhaps even one of the best movies ever made in any genre. The acting was great, the story was magnificent, and the cinematography was captivating given the setting of the film. This type of this is becoming so awfully common in high-school movies, not that this film is aimed at high-schoolers. Facing the death of her father and the severity of the family financial situation, she was left with no choice but to marry the wealthy Chen family. I didn't achieve his great metaphorical and physical heights though. You'll never look at the October sky quite the same again. After I am done writing this, I am going to watch it again. I would consider it to be one of the best dramas ever made.

Unlike Homer Hickam, the hero of "October Sky,'' I didn't go on to become a NASA scientist, or train astronauts. GO SEE THIS MOVIE! He treats Homer differently from older brother Jim Scott Thomas , who's athletic ability stands to earn him a college football scholarship, one of the few ways out for a graduating teen growing up in a town with no prospects of it's own.

Joe Johnston showcases these difficult moments with the mood or theme of music, lighting, camera angles and speeches. Each mistress has her own quarter in the castle and her own personal servant. I went on to get my degrees in Physics and Computer Engineering. The film has some powerful themes that are beautifully scripted.
