An outline is a useful tool for organizing your thoughts and structuring your writing. It helps you to see the logical flow of your ideas and ensure that your essay has a clear and cohesive structure. An effective outline can make the writing process faster and easier, and it can also help you to produce a well-organized and well-written final draft.

To make an effective outline, you should follow these steps:

  1. Determine the purpose of your essay. Before you start outlining, it's important to know what you want to achieve with your writing. Are you trying to persuade your readers to take a particular action, or are you just presenting information? This will help you to decide what information to include in your outline and how to structure it.

  2. Choose a clear and logical organization. An outline should follow a logical structure that makes it easy for readers to follow your argument. One common way to organize an outline is to use a hierarchical structure, with main points at the top level and subpoints beneath them. Alternatively, you could use a chronological structure or a spatial structure, depending on the nature of your essay.

  3. Break your essay down into smaller sections. Once you have decided on your overall organization, you can start breaking your essay down into smaller sections. This will help you to focus on one idea at a time and ensure that each section flows logically from the one before it.

  4. Use headings and subheadings to label each section. Headings and subheadings help to give your outline a clear and organized structure. They also make it easier for readers to see the main points and supporting details in your essay.

  5. Include specific examples and details. An outline should include not only the main points of your essay, but also specific examples and details that support those points. This will help you to flesh out your ideas and make your essay more convincing.

  6. Review and revise your outline. Once you have completed your outline, it's a good idea to review it and make any necessary revisions. Make sure that your outline follows a logical structure and that all of your points are clearly and concisely stated.

By following these steps, you can create an effective outline that will help you to write a well-organized and well-written essay.

Crash (2005) Reviews

review crash movie

A man in the other car is propelled through the windshield and into James' car, dead. Her face says it all — it elicits fear, pain, hatred, and ultimately, deep upset over her husband's fragility and lack of manhood; the actions or lack thereof fulfilled by a man so utterly crippled by a fear of his own ethnicity that he denies himself the most basic human rights; peer respect at the cost of humility and debasement. It really ticked me off. There is a certain disconnect with reality. Take out the crashes and the injuries, and substitute the usual romantic movie story line, and it would be easy to understand this progression. Don't see it unless you feel like being preached at about the racism in society through a bad and unrealistic script from 2 white men over fifty who have no semblance of reality or interaction with real society in any way shape or form. I was entirely satisfied with this movie, I couldn't have asked for anything more.

We have cinematography which is technically clear: we can see the scene, we have a clear understanding of what is happening. The film revolves around several characters moving back and forth between each story line. Who was paid off for that one, I have no clue. The whole racist theme seems at first to be what holds the character's lives together, but these characters are very human and everyone does know people who behave these ways. No film in which the Chairman of the Federal Reserve played here by Christopher McDonald is the most colorful character can be said to have much grip on reality, but this one is further off the mark than even that suggests; theatrically and on video, its stock will tank quickly enough to test the reflexes of a high-frequency trading algorithm. The movie is not all bad.

The film revolves around the different lives of a handful of people over the course of a 36-hour period. This film follows the lives of a dozen or so people over the course of 2 days all living in Los Angeles. The film had won Best Picture for the Academy Awards of 2005. There are the aforementioned moments that actually start to amount to something, and begin to captivate — but are unfortunately dragged to a halting stop whenever Haggis tries to nail the point with a sledgehammer. Who can honestly sit and watch that with a straight face? This is Catherine Ballard Soon after, James is in a head-on crash. A socialite Sandra Bullock and District Attorney Brandon Fraser are carjacked at gunpoint by two black teenagers.

Crash (1996)

Racism, hate, justified racism, justified hate, brutal stereotypes. There needs to be more peace and less violence in the world and the movie Crash exemplifies why. The icing of the cake of a dreadful film for me was the scene in which the little cutesy Latina girl is 'shot', trying to protect her father Hispanic guy whose name I cannot recall as the only thing that is put forward in Crash is a person's race. These characters all speak using the same voice and all they ever talk about is racism. The writer, Paul Haggis, already showed a taste for polemics over humanity in his Million Dollar Baby, which at least had a director who understood how to make the vision of the film bring out the best of a script's ideas. It is simply not my kind of movie.

Which leads me to the 4th paragraph where I explain why I would never recommend this film. Why are we instead treated to such one-dimensionality? Now he like others is granted the perv superpower of seeing the sensuality of technology, and especially the dark ecstasy of seeing sleek technology go haywire, seeing how the human form fuses with this futurist world of glass and metal and gasoline in the act of crashing. Thankfully, there are directors like John Sayles who still have the talent to pull it off, and with panache. Sometimes, yes, they rise above it, although it is never that simple. The depth of the performances by all the actors was brilliant. Race is paramount in this film, and all our preconceptions of who people are get twisted and turned through the intricate plot. The film masterfully shows us not only the worst quality of humankind but it scrutinizes the reasons why humans are this way.

It switches from a somewhat depressing contemplative amalgamation of moments about racism in everyday life and how destructive it is, to a throbbing, intense web of choices and consequences -- life and death, vivifying or soul killing -- and the chance at redemption. It ticked me off and made me feel dirty. His eyes lock onto the eyes of Helen What's happening here? Have the husband make a fool of himself. Throughout the movie hate crime and hate speech was captured in the movie Crash through several characters. Okay, fine, we get it. This film was made in the style of one of my favorite films. After all, how can you applaud a film that states the obvious? Farhad accused the repairman for being at fault for the destructions of his store and tried to get his insurance to cover the damages.

Review of the Movie "Crash" by Paul Haggis Essay Example

Capitalism is demonstrated with the human trafficking storyline. Los Angeles is the Haggis's chosen melting pot for not only necessarily race, but varying human ideologies. Not only does the film show racism it shows capitalism, sexism, and patriarchy. Because the film offers no real solution, the discussion and discourse it creates in the minds of the viewers is the first step in solving society's ills. The theme of racism really slaps you in the face, but it is followed by other underlying messages, such as redemption.

Wouldn't it have had more emotional tension, as well as realism, if it had been somebody we had not been following all day long? The complexity of the film comes from the encounters between characters and their tangled lives and worlds. I can see that Haggis' intentions with this film were honorable, but dare I suggest that by directing his own script he has not been able to identify and, therefore, overcome its flaws. They have sex together in most of the possible pairings, including homosexual; the focus is not on the other person, but on the settings and props. The young people hated them so much that they broke into their store and vandalized it. Sandra Bullock plays against character and pulls it off with ease. A film should reveal its meaning gradually, not slap us in the face with it in the opening scenes and then never let up.
