He justifies his actions by saying anyone who wants drugs could get them, and so he might as well make money. Mark asks Bryon to stay with him in the hospital, and Bryon promises that he will. Bryon looks at the kid who attacked Mark and says that he is going to kill him for what he did. I looked across the street, watching some little twelve- and thirteen-year-old teeny-boppers make fools of themselves—smoking, trying to act cool, pushing each other, screaming and swearing so loud I could hear them. Eventually, Bryon finds out that Mark is selling pills and calls the police on him which ends their friendship. The boys then drop her on her front yard and return home. From this point on, Bryon becomes emotionally detached and pushes Cathy away.
When a child is young they learn to share and be kind to others, but since Grendel was different from everyone, no one wanted to be around him from the start. Who hates fighting, and hates criminals. One thing about it, though. To hate the person you love best in the world. When they spot him walking down the street, they see that there are three guys about to jump him.

Mark from That Was Then, This is Now is a unique artist. Bryon says that he thinks of Mark as his brother too, and when he looks at Mark, he sees that Mark is smiling. I wonder what the difference is? Is the rising action of this story? When they are kids, Bryon and Mark are inseparable troublemakers and love each other like brothers. Bryon's growing up, spending a lot of time with girls, and thinking seriously about who he wants to be. Mark says that he hates Bryon, and that he no longer thinks of them as brothers.
Bryon distances himself from everyone, including Cathy. Bryon pleads for forgiveness, reminding Mark of their friendship and brotherly bond. Bryon is really worried; Curtis tells him that a cop called an ambulance. Eventually, his renunciation of conscience is punished by killing himself, when he wants to destroy the portrait which represents his soul and conscience. One of their opponents runs off in surprise, and the other two are disarmed in the attack. Bryon finds out that Angela had convinced a kid to attack Curtis for rejecting her, but when Mark stepped in, the kid hit him over the head with a bottle.
Their families are poor, and Bryon's mother is in the hospital. As they beat him, Bryon passes out. They're the perfect team. The physical and emotional support they provide each other during these escapades builds a sense of mutual loyalty and brotherhood between them. Should Bryon turn in someone closer than a brother to him? Bryon observes that Mark has a gift for getting away with anything and for talking people into anything.
Why did Bryon turn Mark in? He dismisses any potential consequences for his actions, particularly because he focuses solely on himself rather than how his actions might affect others. However, in the present day, ponyboy has a lot to offer. You gotta just take things as they come, and quit trying to reason them out. Their financial troubles often lead to violence. That Bryon was absent during this incident, therefore, suggests that he is growing apart from Mark as he grows closer to Cathy. He starts to recognize that he is not invincible and that his actions can have severe—even fatal—consequences for others.
The Character Of Bryon In That Was Then, This Is Now
Drugs show their effect on a child once intelligent and sensitive. He turns Mark in, destroying their friendship. He forces Tex and Mason to drive him to the state line, holding them at gunpoint; he is killed soon after by the police. He got it from somebody else. In March of this year, Bryon set out on a journey that would change his life.
Hinton suggests that Bryon, on the other hand, is starting to move away from Mark and their usual dynamic by taking Cathy to the dance and leaving Mark to his own devices. Hinton in which friends Byron and Mark struggle to overcome poverty and their oftentimes violent surroundings. He does not see Mark again until a few months later, when he tries to apologize. This aggravates Mark; Bryon realizes then that Mark and Cathy will never be friends. The cops arrive and arrest Mark after Bryon describes all the crimes that Mark had committed. Bryon then sees the kid talking to Angela and realizes that she asked the kid to fight with Curtis because Curtis ignored her. Mark is jealous of Cathy, and the distance between the boys grows.
