The Last of the Mohicans is a 1992 American historical drama film directed by Michael Mann and starring Daniel Day-Lewis, Madeleine Stowe, and Russell Means. The film is based on the 1826 novel of the same name by James Fenimore Cooper and is set in the midst of the French and Indian War (1754-1763) in upstate New York.
The story follows the journey of Hawkeye, a white man raised by the Mohican tribe, and his relationship with Cora and Alice Munro, the daughters of a British colonel. As they try to escape the war-torn wilderness, they are pursued by the Huron warrior Magua and the French army.
