I know when I think of sappy romantic dramas, I think of hardcore, rebellious punk rock bands like Jonny Was and The Germs, no matter how much I don't really want to, and I'd imagine West wishes that sarcastic statement was true, because, honestly, who thinks or even knows about Jonny Was or The Germs? The next day, Landon comes to the hospital and sees Jamie being wheeled out of there. Landon and Jamie make up the next day. These different themes affect the audience's interpretation of the meaning of the novel and the movie. Landon eventually learns the script by himself.
