But if you are going to start a complex mechanism going you had better be sure that no gremlins can spoil it and this is full of gremlins. Jake Stephano was responsible for finding Patrick, torturing him, and handing him over to the FBI. By all accounts he was happily married and adored his daughter. There is some graphic violence including torture scenes which will upset some. The ending of this story is actually unpredictable. Lots of characters are introduced, lots of details about the case as well as other material whose significance becomes clear only much later, etc etc. While the caper is intricate, it's a bit too flawless.

Although as much as I enjoyed the storyline, I didn't much like the ending, I felt it was rushed, like bing-bang-boom, and there were a lot of unanswered questions.

These people were able to get their hands on the big settlement and as a result were behaving very unethically by showing their superiority to other lawyers and people in the city. They'd chased him around the world, always just missing him. And does he really get away with it? I can only remember one book that I did not like - in the history of all his books - which include this YA Theodore Boone books.

Definitely a book for Grisham fans and possibly a good way to be introduced to Grisham if you haven't yet read anything by the author! After Sandy learned that Patrick was a live, he wasn t critical of his behavior and even agreed to represent him as his lawyer in courtroom.
