The images and birdsong from now are set against a recruiting 78 recording from the time of the First World War - maybe Grandad Peace - Percy Peace - heard such a recording and it spurred him on to join up to fight for King and Country - he came back - but his lungs were bad from being gassed in the trenches - this would later be compounded by the breathing in of paint fumes as he worked painting the council houses of Sheffield inside and out until they finally gave up on him. A good friend told me about his experience with hives in his city garden. A version of the piece was featured as an installation at the Liverpol Bienale 2006 as part of the REDSKYATNIGHT show.
