One of the only things that bring Soda down is the fact that he is a school dropout who works at a gas station. I couldn't help but shed a tear while reading this. All those things were still true upon my second read but I had much more sympathy for him this time around. Also, despite the author being too descriptive, the book went at a steady pace. By the time I was finished with it, which was a couple of hours later, I knew what I had to do. But upon failing even to do that, he staggers back to his old house, only to make an astonishing discovery.

He realises this foolery and tears filled his soul. Not any difficult phrase, not any lyrical lines but these simple, honest, amazingly written lines had such a profound effect on me, I can't even explain it in words. Love without any limitation! First off, I love historical fiction, and this is the genre of this book. Not sure what the big deal is with this guy. This compact book packs a punch with what seemed like honest intentions on reconciling the hurt, love, and power dynamic over the decades within the Benetto family. Darry is tall, muscular, smart and very strict towards Ponyboy. He leaves his family.
In this story Bechdel has a way of putting the little pieces together in order to create the bigger picture. The book is very well written, full of phrases and descriptions that make you stop and think. What a beautiful book. I asked him which was harder, ascending or descending? You can sense the uprising and maxim tone trying to be impressive —which is successful at some point. Chick gets the opportunity to have one last conversation with his mother because he never got a chance to tell her goodbye.
He meets her in an astonishing way. This shows full contrast. I have a better recollection of Tuesdays with Morrie — I book whose movie adaptation I enjoyed almost as much as the novel that inspired it. Mitch Albom beautifully captures the spirit of what it means to live as flawed persons in a flawed and imperfect world and delivers and unforgettable tale that will make its readers want to hold their loved ones a little bit closer than ever before. And he tries, with her tender guidance, to put the crumbled pieces of his life back together.
