I wasn't wild about the switching between first-person letters from Bo to Larry King and then third-person narrative for other parts of the book. The characters in both books went to a big race to compete in was swimming or a triatholon. One of the main points of the book is to be independent and don't let others bring you down. His anger prompts him to say unwise things that get him cut from the football team, called a quitter by his dad, and sent to Mr.
Book Description Bo has been at war with his father for as long as he can remember. Bo's father, with whom he has clashed before, considers his son a quitter, but Bo has the goal of competing in a triathlon, and is in training. The letter-writing to Larry King is a strange device that doesn't work very well, in my opinion, but fortunately it doesn't detract too much. Like to never give up and keep trying and things like that. The choices they make will not be easy--but they will be life-altering.

All the characters except one in this book are male, making it one of those rare books geared toward teenage boys. As a high school teacher, I teach this book to my juniors. I cried at the end, and I The narrator is an angry kid with an angry father. After Bo curses at a teacher —who totally deserved it— he is sent to an anger management class, where Bo discovers more about others and himself that he wouldn't expect. This is a great book for all readers, but specifically men. . It also addresses important issues individuals face: anger, relationships, family, fear. It got on my nerves a bit, but his character was wonderful.
Very effectively presented on Recorded Books by narrators George Guidal and Johnny Heller. Some people may steer away from Crutcher because of this recurring theme standing against authority while others will revel in it. I enjoyed seeing characters from other Crutc In yet another sports centered novel of young men training toward a goal, Crutcher explores the often dysfunctional relationships between fathers and sons. Not having been a teenager for many years but having 2 of my own , I found it to be honest and realistic. Crutcher has a talent for writing honestly and often alarmingly accurately about the nature of human behavior.
I'd rather be in one perspective or another. . Comparison-Ironman plays out like many of Crutcher's other books. Bo Bo Beauregard Brewster has a very tense relationship with his controlling father and anyone else with a similar outlook. I have read all of Crutcher's books, and feel he is one of the best young adult authors ever. To me it kind of disrupted the flow of the story.

My guess is that he was excellent at both. Beauregard Brewster, a would-be Ironman triathlete, chronicles the events that ensue after he insults an oppressive teacher and is forced to take an anger-management class with other troubled students. Beau's stern father, who has to be right at all costs-even if it means stacking the deck against his son-is one of the few fully fleshed-out characters. I really enjoyed this book a lot! I'm not sure if I would read a book by the same author. Bo's determination and motivation is pure an Ironman was a great book! He calls him an a-hole and is forced to attend anger management classes where he meets a girl he really respects.

Ironman focuses on the Bo Brewster, a high school senior, training for the Yukon Jack triathlon. It has some stealth values lessons thrown in with an engaging story about some ultimately likable people. The main character is , Beau Brewster. Bo trains like crazy for this crazy event, and puts his energy to cool his anger that he feels inside, from his personal life, due to his father who is very controlling and haunts Bo's past, and teachers who egg him on to burst.
I think it's a good teaching book. But after that it picked up. He never made up with his dad the dad just dissappered from the story. However, this story unfolds into a very meaningful narrative. Overview of Ironman Bo has been at war with his father for as long as he can remember. Meanwhile, Larry King, is a wise consultant, a helpful listener for many well-known contemporary strivers with big purposes.
