In Psalm 126, the memory of those singing, laughter-filled days of the past becomes, not nostalgia, but the ground of a strong hope for even better days to come. It even tells you what you should do while you are waiting. Seventy years is a long time. Blessed are those that mourn, for they shall be for ever comforted. And so God brought them back.
Somebody pinch me, I must be dreaming! Mount Zion is a symbol for Jerusalem, which itself represents the place where God dwells with his people. They faced discouragement from within and opposition from without. We were as men that dreamed. They were in shock.
