The unhealthy truth is a disturbing reality that many people are unaware of or choose to ignore. It is the fact that our modern lifestyle and habits are causing significant damage to our physical and mental health.

One of the main contributors to the unhealthy truth is the highly processed and unhealthy food that is readily available to us. Fast food restaurants and processed snack foods are often filled with unhealthy additives and preservatives that can have negative effects on our bodies. These foods are also high in sugar, salt, and unhealthy fats, which can lead to weight gain and an increased risk of heart disease and diabetes.

Another aspect of the unhealthy truth is the sedentary nature of many modern jobs and leisure activities. Many people spend hours sitting at a desk or in front of a screen, leading to a lack of physical activity and an increased risk of obesity and other health problems.

Furthermore, the unhealthy truth also includes the harmful chemicals and toxins that we are exposed to on a daily basis. From the air we breathe to the products we use, our bodies are constantly bombarded with harmful substances that can damage our health.

The unhealthy truth is a complex issue that requires a multifaceted approach to address. It is important that individuals take steps to improve their own health by making healthier lifestyle choices, such as eating a balanced diet, exercising regularly, and reducing their exposure to harmful substances. Governments and organizations also have a role to play in creating policies and programs that promote healthy living and reduce the negative impact of unhealthy practices on society.

Ignoring the unhealthy truth is not an option. It is crucial that we face this reality and take action to improve our health and the health of our communities. Only by acknowledging and addressing the unhealthy truth can we hope to create a healthier and more sustainable future for ourselves and future generations.

This book was a real eye-opener for my family. Why can't all those connected with these big food corportations see whats happening? Most of the problem with this book was the author's emotionally charged arguments and lack of rational thought. In the UK, it has none of the nasty artificial yellow dye! The Unhealthy Robyn O'Brien is not the most likely candidate for an anti-establishment crusade. The repetition caused considerable eye rolling and the "hey, I'm doing the best I can," wore really thin. I knew a lot of the basic facts, but Robyn filled in a lot of gaps for me.

O'Brien describes herself as a lifelong Republican and describes her growing disbelief and disillusionment as her journey into caring for her children led her into these startling and often unbelievable discoveries. I would have given the book 4 stars except for the following 2 reasons: 1. Stay away from soy, too. I believe that knowledge is power, transparency is critical and that attitude is everything! Oh wait, I did more research on the computer late at night and found out they do know. This definitley had food for thought.

Self-centered writing, that's how. I had not put much thought into GMO foods before, but she has made me think about some of the possible implications. I just started seeing a holistic doctor and changed my diet, so reading this book along with my diet change has really helped me to stick to healthy, clean foods. We had a limited budget, limited time, and I couldn't cook. I am not knocking the solutions that worked for her, and would not want to tell her what to eat, but my opinion is that her recommendations fall far short of really healthy diet changes that are just as do-able and she misses the chance to advocate for traditional, natural foods that have stood the test of time across culture. Perhaps you didn't know that agribusiness was peddling different food sans offending ingredients to our European frieds.

My kids are so happy as I used to be a mean mom for a few days each month. It hasn't seemed to hu I would give this 5 stars for the incredible job the author did of researching the history and political information on our food system, and exposing all the backhanded ways that the FDA uses to allow unsafe products in the market. I had no idea where this daily head pain was coming from. Whats it going to take? It has definitely helped us to make better choices for our family. I highly recommend this for everyone who wants to stop feeding their families chemicals-especially ones that most other countries have banned! At best, this book will inspire people to do their own research and draw their own conclusions. What I did not like about this book was how self-indulgent it was. Her most recent novel is "Leaps of Faith " 2000. One in eight children in the U. Give us your background in the first chapter, hon, and then get on with the facts. Using only part of the packet in Kraft Mac n Cheese. Maybe I just have an aversion to her writing style: unnecessary repetition I heard you the first 10 times! As she openly states she's not a hippie but rather a life-long Republican who was shocked to discover how big business and big pharmaceutical companies were playing such a scary role in our food production.

Her discussion about cows treated with antibiotics was also very interesting. Nonetheless, these experiences helped me to appreciate how essential it is that good eating habits start at home with good examples from parents. I appreciate the information that the author brought to light in this book, but--too bad--I thought her writing was crap. I would recommend this book. The book was written from the perspective of a hysterical mother and all of the extraneous exclamation points were used to continuously remind and often irritate the reader. She may or may not be as naive as you are about the food we're eating today.
