Pirates of Silicon Valley is a 1999 television film that tells the story of the founders of Apple and Microsoft and their rise to the top of the computer industry in the 1970s and 1980s. The film is directed by Martyn Burke and stars Noah Wyle as Steve Jobs and Anthony Michael Hall as Bill Gates.
One of the strengths of Pirates of Silicon Valley is its historical accuracy. The film does a good job of portraying the key events and personalities of the time period, including the founding of Apple and Microsoft, the development of the personal computer, and the rivalry between the two companies. The film also does a good job of capturing the culture of the Silicon Valley during this time, including the free-spirited and sometimes rebellious nature of the computer industry.
Another strength of the film is its acting. Noah Wyle and Anthony Michael Hall both give strong performances as Steve Jobs and Bill Gates, respectively, and they are able to capture the complex personalities of these two iconic figures. The supporting cast is also strong, with Josh Hopkins as Steve Wozniak and Joey Slotnick as Steve Ballmer both turning in solid performances.
One potential weakness of the film is that it may be a bit too biased towards Apple and Steve Jobs. While the film does show some of the flaws and controversies surrounding Jobs and Apple, it also portrays him as a visionary and a genius, and it may not fully capture the complicated and sometimes controversial aspects of his personality and leadership style. Similarly, the film may not fully explore the role that Microsoft played in the development of the personal computer and the impact that the company had on the industry as a whole.
Overall, Pirates of Silicon Valley is a well-made and engaging film that provides a fascinating look at the early days of the computer industry and the rise of Apple and Microsoft. While it may have some biases, it is a valuable resource for anyone interested in the history of technology and the development of the personal computer.
Sample Movie Review: Pirates of Silicon Valley
Jobs was no question one of the great visionaries of the 20th century, but he did not understand how to motivate and empower those around him. In the last few scenes we hear Steve talking to Bill. But it is difficult to sense a purpose in this product, and the lasting impression is of a couple of quite unrelated episodes. Hall has done such crap in the past few years that we all forgot what a great character actor he is. After seeing this effect on the company, Steve Jobs is forced to leave his position at Apple.
I must agree with a previous writer who said it should have been made a six-hour mini-series; even then, many things would have been left out by time constraints. This movie takes place in 2001 with Steve Jobs, played by Ashton Kutcher, introducing the iPod at an Apple Town Hall meeting. Sure, it follows the creators from high school age, but the film structure is very blocky and it jumps around a lot. No company has done more to democratize the computer and make it user-friendly than Apple Computer Inc. Jobs is depicted as being a kind of bully at Apple demanding high quality work and long hours while Gates struggles to search for supremacy. Front and center are Bill Gates The film dutifully details the skyrocketing of Apple from a manufacturer of the first cookie cutter color PCs the Apple II that didn't leave your high school until well after you did to one of the biggest personal computer companies to the giant taken down by the people that helped build it up don't you know, Microsoft helped make the original Macintosh operating system.

Kira-kira begitulah isi cerita film ini. Also wondered, how did they get into it? He also said that the way people are portrayed is how they were. As a geek in Silicon Valley I enjoyed this movie beyond my expectations. As Jay recreates and examines the life of his subject, his own life is affected when he unravels his subject's hidden life and secret love. Jobs had Steve Wozniack, essentially a techie tinkerer who could invent small gizmos which could defraud the phone company.
the pirates of silicon valley movie review, Steve Jobs, Bill Gates, Apple Computer.
Introduction Computers are what give colors to our lives right now. Obviously, artistic license was used on both sides. I loved this movie thoroughly. At the Apple camp Steve Jobs is invited to see the graphical user interface which has been developed by Xerox. Sampai akhirnya saya nemu film ini di hard disk seorang teman. An immensely captivating docu-drama that covers the rise of PC industry by focusing on the events that eventually led to the intense rivalry between Apple Inc.
This happens here and works pretty well. Great depiction of the rise to power of Microsoft headed by Bill Gates. Despite all this, Jobs had managed to uplift and give Apple Computers renowned recognition and success. Wyle tries too hard at being the brilliant asshole. Gates and Allen, with some guidance in the ways of business from Ballmer, manage to move to Albuquerque and found Microsoft.

They grew even larger also with the help of Mike Markula, an agent of Intel Corp. Those interested may want to check Steve Wozniak's website, a section in "letters" discusses his take on this movie. Gates, after watching this movie, I now know how he became as powerful as he now is. Still, it makes me think that the trillions of dollars lost by some of these giant corporations sprang from an immense lack of imagination at key positions I doubt any of those people ever opened a science-fiction novel. The best any actor can do is give you an impression of the people they portray. Anthony Michael Hall is so creepy as Bill Gates- and rightly so - that it leaves him looking smug and dominant. It was published on a newspaper by Mercury News, a news-casting network at those times.
Steve Wozniak also believes that Steve Jobs had some knowledge to make money. Have you ever wondered where it came from or who are the persons behind the gadgets you are using right now? And while that is the central theme of the movie, it also points out the astonishing short-sightedness of top corporate executives--HP unfairly in reality and IBM for not realizing the potential of the personal computer and software for the masses, and Xerox for not understanding what they themselves had developed. Sukses dengan Altair, Bill Gates nekat menawarkan lisensi DOS ke IBM, padahal mereka sebenarnya belum bikin apa-apa! The acting is good with Hall actually getting a nerdy part right and Wyle is just creepy. Anthony Michael Hall is equally great as a geeky Bill Gates. Tapi, saking banyaknya cerita yang ingin dikupas, scenes yang ada jadi nggak maksimal dan nggak berkesan. The Apple changed people 's idea of a computer from a gigantic and inscrutable mass of vacuum tubes only used by big business and the government to a small box used by ordinary people. Put the two together and you've got ENTERPRISE.
The cast is incredible, the acting is incredible, the story is also incredible. He worked for Apple Computers and later on, he fooled Jobs just to get the OS and named it as Windows OS to compete with the Macintosh OS. . IBM reasoned that hardware not software is where the money is at, so they agree. Love him or hate him, you can see why people are willing to put up with him as long as it takes to change the world.
